So people seem to like it when I update this blog weekly and although I don’t have many major announcements, I can keep you in the loop.
I was hoping to get most, if not all, of the coding done this weekend, but my mom flew in from the North to visit my new home down here in the South. Which was really sweet of her, since I haven’t seen her for awhile being busy with the relocation and all. So I couldn’t just say: ‘Mom I have to code!’ In fact, I did the opposite and spent as much time with her as I could. Because coders can love their moms too, can’t they?
But now that the visit is over, I can now focus again on coding for BPT and try to get the rest done. Because of some of the new changes I’m leaning a bit more towards calling this BPT 3.0 over BPT 2.5, but still haven’t decided.
When the new BPT does release, I’ll consider notifying all BPT members. But I’d like, you, my dedicated BPTers to first have a go at it. Firstly, because that’s the way it should be since some of you check it daily. But also, I’m sure the news will spread, and that will give me time to see how the site is holding up.
I also would like to say thanks to all the bloggers out there who blog about BPT. You’ve helped spread the word, and your kindness is a great motivator.
I don’t want to create too much hype because not everything in BPT 2.5 (or 3.0) will be perfect. For the most part you should expect the same style of game you had before BPT went down. The major upgrade that is happening is a more stable server. Yes, I’ve added a few more features but BPT’s main style of play will remain pretty much the same. I think most people on here liked it pretty much the way it was, so I don’t think that will be taken as ‘bad news.’
Anyway, that’s the most interesting update I could give on BPT. You can rest assure that I’m still coding to get this game back up. Every time I code, I aim to get it all done by the end of the week but a few things always end up needing more tweaking or the servers need more attention. So I’m content that I haven’t given a time because it also means I haven’t let anyone down. I thought it was close to being done, and I still do. But because of the amount of variables I’m dealing with, I can’t guarantee a time. Every week, I’ve aimd to get it done by the end of the week. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but it does have to be a good stable code on a new server.
P.S I haven’t had dinner yet and writing all that made me hungry. I’m now going to make myself some spaghetti and then hopefully get back to coding a few more things. Will I use tomato sauce or Alfredo sauce? To help decide this I searched for any players with ‘Sauce’ in the name. I only found one, but her avatar was neither tomato nor Alfredo. Instead, it was a brunette in a blue dress. Anyone know anyone with a good food avatar? I guess I’ll just go decide in the kitchen for now.
